Boston 6 Month Smiles
If you are looking for a way to straighten your teeth, but have always been deterred by the thought of traditional wire and metal brackets, Six Month Smiles may be right for you. These clear braces are metal-free and gently reposition your teeth in an average of six months.
How Six Month Smiles Works
Patients love this clear, effective, and affordable alternative to traditional metal orthodontics. While traditional braces are best for correcting your bite and alignment for the long-term, these clear braces work well if you are looking for short-term, aesthetically-pleasing solution. The focus of this cosmetic dentistry treatment is to straighten the teeth that show when you smile. Although, this system will not change or adjust your bite, it will gently correct crowding and misaligned front teeth. The clear brackets and tooth-colored wires look natural by blending in with your teeth. The entire treatment time ranges between four to nine months with most patients seeing their desired results in an average of six months.
What to Expect
After Dr. Bader has determined that you are a candidate, x-rays will be taken so we have record of your teeth before treatment. Then, impressions of your teeth will be taken and submitted with details of your case to the laboratory. A clear set of braces will be specifically designed just for you. We will contact you when we receive the braces back from the laboratory so they can be placed. Bonding trays will accompany the braces making the application process quick and easy. All Dr. Bader has to is bond them to your teeth.
During your treatment, Dr. Bader will see you about once a month to adjust your braces utnil your treatment is complete. Average treatment time is only six months to achieve a beautifully straight smile.
After treatment, a retainer will be used for maintenance. It’s up to you whether you prefer a removable retainer or one that is bonded to the inside of your teeth.
Six Month Smiles Compared to Invisalign
There are some differences to straightening teeth with Invisalign invisible braces.
- The tooth-colored wires and clear brackets are not removable. Since Invisalign aligners can be removed, results are highly dependent upon patient cooperation.
- Treatment time is shorter than Invisalign, averaging half the time.
- These clear braces are affordable, typically about the same cost of Invisalign.
Dr. Bader encourages you to come into the office for a complimentary consultation so he can present the pros and cons of this system. It has proven to work well for crowded or twisted teeth, as well as closing small gaps in front teeth. He is an expert cosmetic dentist that offers both Invisalign and Six Month Smiles and will help you to determine which treatment option is best for your unique needs.+
