Beware of imitators! The PPM® is not a boil and bite piece of rubber, nor is it the free mouthguard that your local dentist provides to the high school football team. Each patient receiving a PPM® has a thorough TMJ evaluation. Then precise models are taken of the teeth. An electronic TENS device is placed on the jaw and neck muscles for about an hour to create complete relaxation of those muscles. This relaxed, balanced muscular jaw position is then precisely measured and recorded on a Jaw Tracking Computer. We can immediately demonstrate the effectiveness of the Neuromuscular bite position by testing upper body strength, balance and flexibility. The results are often dramatic and surprising. This information is sent to a laboratory to make the finished PPM® in about 2 weeks.

The PPM® works by allowing the jaw, head neck and shoulders to maintain a balanced relaxed muscular position. Biting against the PPM® allows the athlete to develop more upper body strength, better balance and increased flexibility. In addition, by increasing upper airway space, it is easier to breathe freely allowing for improved oxygenation and better endurance.

Boxingtalk caught up with junior welterweight contender Dmitriy Salita, who commented on the most-talked about mouth guard in sports, the Pure Power Mouthguard, as well as his opponent this Saturday night, Derrick Campos. Dmitriy went on to discuss his preparation for the Derrick Campos fight this Saturday night on the undercard of Joe Calzaghe-Roy Jones Jr.. "I am in great condition and I have been in camp since Sept 1st.  I feel that this is going to open a lot of doors for me and I want to fight the best fighters in my division."  Dmitriy continued, "Campos is a good puncher and he hurt a few guys so I have to watch out for that. I hope my mouth guard won’t get tested too much," he said jokingly. In closing Salita added, "I think this is going to be a great fight and Calzaghe-Jones is going to be a great fight. I am the best Jr. Welterweight in the world."
